When people leave, what do you hope they’re saying?

Our goal at Bandit is to surpass folks’ expectations through our hospitality, quality, and consistency. We roast our coffee, create and bake all bread and pastries in-house, and offer a full kitchen menu with all-day breakfast and lunch. The Bandit team is genuine, funny, and kind. They’re talented and collaborative. Their hard work speaks for itself. Our bar team also cares about your day and what brought you in to see us. They aim to give you a consistently hospitality-focused experience – even if you’re a stranger. Even if there’s a line down the sidewalk on a busy weekend morning.

These moments of human connection remain our favorite part of being a customer at a café, and we protect this people-first culture as we continue to grow. Especially as the world we experience feels more digital, automated, and removed from human handicraft. We want you to leave feeling like your time and dollars were well-spent, as well as felt like a truly valuable part of your day.

What’s something guests might not notice but you care deeply about?

Removing WiFi changed our own café culture for the better.

We love libraries. Bandit isn’t a library. We want people to be free to express themselves: connect with friends, recognize fellow regulars and meet them, laugh, converse, and most importantly, disconnect from the digital world for a moment. Our hard work as baristas, cooks, bakers, and coffee roasters is tangible. It now feels somewhat radical to be fully present in enjoying coffee, food, pastries, and company. And we’re proud to give permission to do it.

We love seeing folks bring dominoes, playing cards, journal, read, or write pen-to-paper. That’s the good stuff.

Where are you choosing to do less these days?

Read online reviews. We have well-established our point of view, ethos, and identity as Bandit from over 10 years of collaboration and experimentation. A tableside check-in remains the best way to gain feedback, and good ol’ word of mouth is always king.

What should someone order on their first visit?

Espresso & Lil’ Drip (we rotate through our Bandit Coffee Co. selections daily on all brew methods), and the classics: a Cinnamon Roll, a Bacon Egg & Cheese served on pillowy housemade brioche — all for here.

We also recommend folks to be the hero and order Garlic Fries for the table, along with our Bandit Sauce. Everyone loves fries for the table.

Halfway through your meal, go ahead and order a Maple Bourbon Latte online for takeaway to pick up from the window. Sip and savor as you stroll our neighboring businesses on Central Avenue.
