Partners Coffee Roasters
Brooklyn, NY
The Company We Keep
Partners Coffee began in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2012 with two childhood friends who wanted to create a place to celebrate coffee; At the core, they started with a commitment to source coffee through lasting relationships and roast quality coffee that highlights those as they should be.

In Interview
We asked them the same four questions we ask every partner...
When people leave, what do you hope they’re saying?
We should get a bag of their coffee.
What’s something guests might not notice but you care deeply about?
Our guests experience the quality of our production, but they may not know about our deep commitment to integrity in our sourcing. We purchase reliably from the same producers year after year, enabling farmers to anticipate our collaboration and invest in their local communities. Part of our commitment is trusting farmers as expert stewards of their own land. We rely on their expertise in producing phenomenal coffees, which our team then develops into limited release single origins or as components in our mainstay blends. Through this relationship, we feel the name Partners is best represented.
Where are you choosing to do less these days?
We were started by two childhood friends who wanted a fun, approachable, social space for coffee, and we're really just a surprisingly small team of people who care about each other and care about the work. As we grow, we're choosing to do less of anything that makes coffee feel transactional — and holding onto our belief that specialty coffee can be earnest, welcoming, and above all, delicious.
What should someone order on their first visit?
If it were up to us, we’d order all new guests a pour over. We always want people to know how beautiful and complex black coffee can be. A pour over offers the chance to take a moment and indulge in the nuances and complexities of the truly remarkable coffees our green buyer is able to source from around the world.
