Organic Agave Nectar - Light, Organic Agave Nectar - Hot
Ingredients
- 2 lbs (900g) chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
- 1 tbsp baking powder (not baking soda)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for your desired spice level)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/14 cup hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot or your preferred brand)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp Agave In The Raw
- 1 tsp sriracha or more to taste (optional for extra heat)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Preparation
- Step 1
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. This will help the wings get crispy.
- Step 2
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving crispy skin.
- Step 3
In a large bowl, toss the wings with the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and olive oil until evenly coated.
- Step 4
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
- Step 5
While the wings are baking, prepare the spicy sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the hot sauce, melted butter, Agave In The Raw,, sriracha (if using), and garlic powder.
- Step 6
Once the wings are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the spicy sauce over the wings and toss until they are fully coated.
- Step 7
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce and sides like celery and carrot sticks.
